The Once Sad Tomato Plant

Hi everyone! Sorry for the long break! Here is an update on our once sad tomato plant. We bought a rain barrel from Jay's Barrel & Drum Supply for $100. It already had the spigot attached and netting at the top to help keep out any unwanted leaves and critters. Then, we went to our local Home Depot and purchased two types of tubing, one with pre-punched holes, and one without. We also purchased fittings and plugs to fit the two tubes together from the spigot and control which holes we want to have open based on our planting design. A few weeks later, we have all the fresh Roma tomatoes we can handle! We also planted several basil plants around our tomato plant for companion planting! Basil not only improves the flavor of tomatoes but also can help keep pests away.
